Dr Tetyana Lokot
is a Ukrainian media researcher and associate professor of digital media and society at the School of Communications at Dublin City University.
She studies digital rights and their violations, authoritarianism online, and internet governance in Eastern Europe. Lokot has taught at the Kyiv-Mohyla School of Journalism. She authored the book Beyond the Protest Square: Digital Media and Augmented Dissent (2021), a comprehensive study of the impact of digital media on the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine. She is the deputy chair of the Working Group on Ukraine at the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) and serves on the Board of Directors of Places of Sanctuary Ireland. Her work has been published in The Guardian, The Washington Post, and Foreign Policy.
