Iryna Zaporozhets is a PhD researcher and a member of the NGO Civilians in Captivity. Following the abduction of her father by Russian forces during the occupation of the Kharkiv region, she turned to advocacy, championing the rights and release of unlawfully detained Ukrainian civilians.
Her work is centered on raising international awareness and highlighting the profound human impact of enforced disappearances and arbitrary detentions.
