Managing Director of CORRECTIV.Europe
Joanna Krawczyk is the Managing Director of CORRECTIV.Europe — the European division of CORRECTIV, Germany’s award-winning, public-interest media organization specializing in investigative journalism, media education, and technology. Leading a network of over 500 local media outlets and content creators across 35 countries, she supports community-centered reporting, cross-border collaboration, and shared infrastructure.
She also serves on the boards of the European Media and Information Fund and Journalismfund. Previously, Joanna was Deputy Director East at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where she focused on media development and headed the Ukrainian Media Fund. She also served as Partnerships Director at Gazeta Wyborcza, Poland’s leading legacy media outlet, where she established its Foundation and launched the country’s first support programs for investigative and local media.
Additionally, she chaired the Leading European Newspaper Alliance — a consortium of eight major European newspapers: Die Welt (Germany), El País (Spain), La Repubblica (Italy), Le Figaro (France), Le Soir (Belgium), Tages-Anzeiger (Switzerland), and Gazeta Wyborcza — to drive collaborative journalism, resource sharing, and technological innovation across borders.
