Joseph Wen
Researcher, And Creator of the Project PLA Bases and Facilities
Joseph Wen, born in 1998 in Taipei, is a researcher and author who transitioned from a background in music to becoming a prominent voice in military analysis. His interest in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) began in junior high, eventually leading him to specialize in geolocating military imagery to demystify Chinese defense developments.
Joseph is the creator of the widely acclaimed interactive map project, PLA Bases and Facilities, and the author of OSINT on the PLA: How to Track China’s Military Activities Using Open-Source Intelligence.
Currently pursuing an M.A. at National Taiwan Normal University, he serves as an Adjunct Researcher at TASS and a Non-Resident Fellow at INDSR – while co-founding the Taiwan Defense Studies Initiative (TDSI).
