Tetiana Symon
Ukrainian Film Director, and First Assistant Director (1st AD)
Tetiana Symon is a Ukrainian film director, acting coach, casting director, and first assistant director (1st AD). She studied directing at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema and Television and made her directorial debut in 2015 with the short film Junk.
Her portfolio includes work on acclaimed films such as Volcano, Atlantis, Klondike, and Reflection.
Tetiana currently coordinates the witness interviewing stream for the War Archive project — a 2022 initiative launched by Docudays UA and Infoscope. Under her leadership, the team has gathered over 970 unique testimonies documenting the Russian-Ukrainian war. These stories form the foundation of the documentary series Witnesses, which Tetiana directs, featuring titles such as Witnesses. North of Kyiv, Witnesses. Captivity Kills, Kherson. Resistance Continues, “Planes Came One After Another”: How Civilians in Moshchun Faced the Invasion, Theatre Underground: How Kharkiv Created During the War, and Mariupol Under Siege: Hunger, Courtyard Burials, and Evacuation.
