Nino Robakidze
Media Development Consultant
Nino Robakidze is a dedicated advocate for freedom of expression and a media enthusiast with over 15 years of experience across journalism, research, civic activism, and project management. For the past seven years, she led the Europe Center of the IREX SAFE Initiative while also serving as the Country Director for IREX Georgia until the closure of the Tbilisi office.
Working with a broad network of global stakeholders, Nino fosters solidarity among journalists and civil society to build strong, collegial, and lasting relationships for a safer and freer media environment in Georgia and across Eurasia.
During her time at Transparency International — Georgia, Nino managed media programs, focusing on comprehensive research and advocacy initiatives related to corruption, civil society, media ownership, freedom of expression, and vibrant information ecosystems. She is an alumna of several international educational and leadership programs — including the Leadership Academy for Development at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law at Stanford. Nino holds a master’s degree in journalism and media management and has been teaching the theory and history of freedom of expression at media schools for over ten years.
