Meenal Thakur is a solutions journalism practitioner, trainer, and program lead at Transitions – a Prague-based media development organization – and an independent media consultant. She collaborates with newsrooms across Europe and beyond to integrate solutions-oriented reporting into editorial workflows, focusing on audience engagement, trust-building, and reporting within polarized or fragile contexts. 

Her work uniquely combines Solutions Journalism with the “Complicating the Narrative” approach to move beyond binary framing of divisive issues, fostering more constructive, evidence-based coverage to depolarize the news. 

Meenal has mentored numerous journalists, led cross-border newsroom collaborations, and developed innovative media programs focused on investigating solutions, conflict-sensitive reporting, and information resilience.
