Nataliya Gumenyuk
Author, and Executive Director of the Public Interest Journalism Lab
Nataliya Gumenyuk is an author and expert specializing in international affairs and human rights. She serves as the Executive Director of the Public Interest Journalism Lab, which co-founded The Reckoning Project — an international initiative dedicated to documenting war crimes. She has authored several books and documentaries, including “The Lost Island: Reports from the Occupied Crimea” and “Maidan Tahrir: In Search of the Lost Revolution.”
A regular contributor to The Foreign Affairs, The Guardian, The Atlantic, and The New York Times, she also provides expert commentary for CNN, the BBC, and Monocle 24. Previously, she co-founded and led Hromadske and Hromadske International for five years. Nataliya is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the 2022 Free Media Award, the 2023 Hanns Joachim Friedrichs Award, and the 2024 Reporters Without Borders Award. She has also been a frequent speaker and moderator at LMF conferences.
